Independence day carnival:

Maccabi Singapore Sports Club celebrated Israel's 62 Independence Day with a BANG.

Maccabi club hosted an event not to be forgotten! The majority of the Jewish community in Singapore gathered for a carnival at our home courts at Emaar international school to celebrate Israel's 62nd Independence Day.

The club hosted the community for a great event of exiting fun filled day of basketball, music, Israeli culture and great Israeli cuisine (made by the Awafi restaurant). All kids were invited to participate in friendly basketball matches along with Maccabi’s girls and boys squads and coaches. All the girls and boys that participated in the carnival received a marvelous signature Maccabi club sports shirt.

The carnival had started with Idit Abu, Deputy Chief of Mission, interesting presentation made for the kids, who have had a unique chance (here far away from Israel)  to learn about the state of Israel, its history and its many achievements.

The presentation was followed by several exiting friendly matches amongst the various age groups.  Each team had the chance to host new comers within the games.

The Independence Day carnival event was a great success! So far, the carnival resulted with 10 new kids who joined our Maccabi club basketball teams.

We would like to end this event coverage with expressing our great appreciation to the people who helped us in organizing this successful event and to the precious people (who wanted to stay anonymous) that made a  remarkable contribution which allowed us to make this great  event happen.
